QUALITY SOFTWARE ENGINEER

The Product Validation team is responsible for the optimization and automation of all test processes within the engineering department. All products (hardware, firmware, software,…) are validated against specified test plans. To accommodate future test needs an internal test automation framework has been developed by the team. This framework manages and executes all types of tests on different Option products. The automation framework is build up in a modular way and uses a client-server model. Test script writing is done in Perl to facilitate parsing and analysis of results.

In order to test newly introduced technologies (HSPA, LTE,…) we need to make use of specific test equipment and protocol analyzers. Automation on these test devices is needed to test our expanding product family and to increase the amount of testing. New modules in the automation framework have to be developed to steer these devices via vendor-specific interfaces. All modules need to be integrated in the existing automation framework.

The Software Quality Engineer is part of a multi-disciplinary team covering complete product testing.

The daily tasks of the Quality Software Engineer are:

-       Develop the test automation system

-       Create test scripts based on pre-defined test cases.

-       Configure test equipment using vendor-specific interfaces
